The 19th Gochang Cheongboribat Festival to be Held on the 30th at Hagwon Tourist Farm Area
[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] The 19th Gochang Green Barley Field Festival, Korea's representative scenic agricultural festival, will be held from the 30th of this month to the 15th of next month at the Hakwon Tourist Farm area in Gong-eum-myeon.
According to the county on the 28th, the Gochang Green Barley Field Festival, held for the first time in three years, will feature a 1.5 km car-free street that harmonizes with the eco-friendly green barley fields, including walking along paths between the barley fields, tractor sightseeing rides, and trick art path experiences.
Additionally, various programs are prepared, such as providing unique scenery within the green barley fields through movie and drama filming locations, windmills, and observatories, as well as operating food stalls, traditional games, and local food promotion centers.
In particular, during the festival period, the Gochang Nongak Preservation Society will offer street performances every Sunday at 11 a.m. for about an hour, providing diverse attractions for tourists.
Traffic control and visitor quarantine measures have been in place since the 23rd and will continue until the festival ends on the 15th of next month.
A county official stated, “Since this year’s festival is held amid a situation where COVID-19 still cannot be fully assured against, large-scale events where many tourists gather at the same time will be restrained, and utmost efforts will be made to ensure tourists’ quarantine safety and prevent accidents.”
