[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Dongwoo Lee] The Korea Petroleum Management Service announced on the 27th that it will expand the 'Domestic Production Project for Petroleum Product Analysis Testing Equipment.' Previously, the Petroleum Management Service had been promoting the domestic production project since 2020 to support the domestic market for petroleum product analysis testing equipment, which had relied on foreign imports.
Some results have already become visible. In 2020, the Petroleum Management Service collaborated with domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to develop two types of equipment: water separation measurement and rust prevention performance testing equipment. Last year, two more types of equipment, dynamic viscosity and copper strip corrosion testing equipment, were domestically produced.
This year, the Petroleum Management Service will support 100 million KRW for the joint development project to domestically produce three types of testing equipment for lubricating oil foaming, oxidation stability, and wetting. After the development of the equipment, it plans to immediately introduce them into the Petroleum Management Service for use in petroleum product quality analysis tasks.
