[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jo Ji-hoon, a preliminary candidate for mayor of Jeonju, announced on the 26th that he would promote agricultural and food vouchers to guarantee food security for vulnerable groups.
On the same day, Candidate Jo announced a food plan pledge that includes △expanding consumer markets such as public meals and school meals △customized support for local food by generation △operation of agricultural and food vouchers to guarantee food for vulnerable groups.
Through this, he aims to promote the revitalization of local agricultural products and food consumption while realizing universal food welfare.
Specifically, to revitalize the consumption of local agricultural products and food, he explained that he would build a network linking producers with schools and public institutions so that local agricultural products and food can be provided starting from public meals and school meals.
Currently, there are a total of 597 collective meal service sites in the Jeonju area, with 235 daycare centers and kindergartens being the most numerous, followed by schools, hospitals, and public institutions.
Candidate Jo also declared that he would create a voluntary consumption culture for local agricultural products through consumer organization and dietary education, and establish a customized support system that can satisfy food consumption needs by generation from various perspectives such as safe food and fresh food.
