Minister Jeon said, "The forest authorities, fire departments, and local governments should quickly deploy available resources to minimize damage and thoroughly establish firebreaks to prevent damage to residential areas," and instructed, "Nearby residents who may be affected by the fire should be evacuated in advance."
He also emphasized, "Special attention must be paid to the safety of firefighting personnel to prevent casualties during the extinguishing process," and urged, "Prepare for nighttime firefighting by establishing nighttime extinguishing plans in advance and respond with full force."

The wildfire occurred at 1:36 PM in Woniljeon-ri, Hyeonbuk-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do. The fire is spreading due to strong winds with a momentary wind speed of 17 m/s, and accordingly, the Korea Forest Service issued a Level 2 wildfire response at 4:10 PM.
