View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, announced on the 22nd that he will accept the so-called 'complete prosecution reform' legislative mediation plan proposed by Park Byeong-seok, Speaker of the National Assembly.
After a closed-door party meeting on the same day, Kwon told reporters, "After intense discussions, we decided to accept the Speaker's mediation plan."
Kwon said, "Once both parties accept it, there will be an order to announce the agreement under the Speaker's chairmanship, and the Criminal Procedure Act and the Prosecutors' Office Act will be amended and processed at the plenary session next week," adding, "Both parties compromised within the scope of not fundamentally shaking the criminal justice system of the Republic of Korea, eradicating corruption, and not creating unjust victims."

Regarding internal party disagreements, he said, "It is a natural issue," but added, "Since the agreed parts must be respected, it is not appropriate to discuss the disagreements that occurred during the negotiation process." Kwon also conveyed that most of the lawmakers generally agreed with the mediation plan.
