Safety Product Research and Upgrade Funded by Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency... 550 Million KRW Support for 16 Companies
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) is undertaking a project to upgrade the performance of hazardous and dangerous machinery and equipment used at work sites.
The Industrial Safety and Health Certification Institute of KOSHA has decided to support research and development and the purchase of testing equipment funds for a total of 16 hazardous and dangerous machinery manufacturers this year to encourage the development and distribution of safety products.
In February, the Certification Institute received funding applications from hazardous and dangerous machinery, protective device, and personal protective equipment manufacturers registered as manufacturing companies with KOSHA, and finally selected 16 companies. A total of 550 million KRW will be supported.
Research and development funding will be provided to 8 companies with 370 million KRW, and testing equipment purchase support will be given to 8 companies with 180 million KRW.
The research and development funding will be used to develop safety products applying new technologies such as frame scaffolding and equipment to prevent fall accidents.
The testing equipment purchase funds will be utilized to enhance the quality of safety products, including decontamination capability testers for gas masks and explosion-proof device measuring equipment.
