On the 22nd, the Ulsan District Court Criminal Division 5 (Judge Han Yoon-ok) announced that it sentenced Mr. A (46), who was tried on charges of fraud, to six months in prison.
Mr. A was charged with embezzling 30 million won in August 2015 by calling Mr. C, the son-in-law of Mr. B, with whom he was very close, and deceiving him by saying, "Your mother-in-law, Mr. B, borrowed money from a private lender but is unable to repay it and is being harassed."
However, Mr. A filed for bankruptcy in 2020 due to many debts. After learning this, Mr. C confirmed that his mother-in-law had never borrowed from a private lender and then filed a complaint against Mr. A.
