Sejong-si, Creating Youth Jobs Linked to Social Economy Enterprises
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City is launching an initiative to create youth jobs linked with social economy enterprises.
The city announced on the 8th that it will promote the "Cheongsadan Project (Youth + Social Economy + Dan (團))" as part of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's region-led youth job creation program.
The core of the project is to provide jobs in the social economy sector to unemployed youth aged 18 to 39 residing in the region.
Through the project, youth will have employment opportunities by connecting with social economy enterprises, while the city plans to support wages for hiring companies and assist youth with capacity-building education and network-building activities.
Earlier, from February 24 to March 14, the city recruited participants for the project, selecting 20 companies and 12 youth. After company visits and Cheongsadan Academy training, 6 companies and 6 youth were finally selected.
The city will support the selected companies and youth with wages, transportation expenses, and capacity-building education for one year. The Youth Hope Factory Social Cooperative will manage the operation.
Meanwhile, to expand youth job opportunities, the city is conducting additional recruitment of youth workers from the 7th to the 18th.
