View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Cho Min, the daughter of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, has filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Northern District Court seeking to nullify Korea University's decision to cancel her admission.
According to a press release from Cho Min's legal representatives posted on former Minister Cho's Facebook on the 7th, "The internship (experiential activity) certificates that were an issue in Professor Jeong Gyeongshim's criminal trial were not submitted to Korea University during the admission process, and the only summary of those activities was recorded in the school records," adding, "The school records had little impact on the admission decision, and the causal relationship has not been established."
Cho's side argued, "To decide on the cancellation of admission, it is necessary to confirm what documents the applicant submitted, how and to what extent those materials were reflected in the admission review, and the relationship with other applicants, and then comprehensively consider various circumstances to decide on the cancellation. However, in this case, no verification procedure regarding these facts was conducted at all."
They also pointed out, "Since not all of the problematic career entries in the school records were false, a careful examination should have been made on whether the false parts influenced the admission decision."
