[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Ahn Cheol-soo, chairman of the presidential transition committee, will visit Hyundai-Kia Motors Namyang Research Center on the 8th.
Shin Yong-hyun, spokesperson for the transition committee, held a briefing at the office in Tongui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 7th and announced this schedule.
Attending the on-site visit are Choi Sang-mok, secretary of the Economic Division 1, committee member Kim So-young, committee member Yoo Woong-hwan of Economic Division 2, committee member Nam Ki-tae of the Science, Technology and Education Division, and secretary Im I-ja of the Social Welfare and Culture Division. In addition, government officials related to the future mobility industry are expected to attend.
Spokesperson Shin said, "Through the on-site visit, we will check the development status of eco-friendly future transportation means such as electric vehicles, hydrogen vehicles, autonomous vehicles, and urban air mobility (UAM), and listen to industry requests to explore various support measures from the new government."
The transition committee will also discuss policy improvement measures related to fostering future industry personnel, such as R&D workforce supply and treatment issues, through on-site communication with research and development personnel.

Meanwhile, on the 8th, the Science, Technology and Education Division will hold a meeting with semiconductor experts. Advisory meetings related to digital platforms, visits to school sites for digital AI education and COVID-19 prevention are also scheduled. The Social Welfare and Culture Division will listen to difficulties of day care centers together with the COVID-19 Emergency Response Special Committee and discuss measures for vulnerable groups affected by COVID-19.
