Instead of the usual candidate’s own declaration of candidacy, this was a ‘candidacy urging’ press conference where representatives of residents and supporters summoned the candidate for the local government head election.
About 20 resident representatives and supporters who came to the event introduced that the press conference was held with the wishes of about 10,000 residents of Busanjin-gu.
The residents urged Cho Young-jin to run for district mayor, saying, “We are confident that Cho Young-jin, who has shown passionate and sincere leadership, on-site leadership always together with the field of life, strong drive demonstrated in the campaign to abolish the Baekyang Tunnel toll, and who has been solely thinking about and preparing for the future of Busanjin-gu for the past 10 years, is the prepared Busanjin District Mayor.”
CEO Cho Young-jin served as the regional chairman of the Democratic Party’s Busanjin-gu regional committee until 2019.
