Sinan-gun Secures 9.5 Billion KRW for LPG Infrastructure Project
Jeonnam Province Secures Largest Budget for Affordable and Stable Energy Supply
[Sinan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, applied for the “Island Village Unit LPG Facility Construction Project” conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and secured the largest project fund of 9.5 billion KRW in Jeollanam-do.
The selected project sites include 9 villages on Heuksando and 2 villages on Sinui-do, totaling 11 villages with 879 households, where LPG equivalent to city gas will be supplied over five years from this year through 2026.
Additionally, for the 197 households excluded due to insufficient national funding among the selected project sites, the county plans to invest additional budgets such as county funds to ensure that all households receive LPG gas benefits without any being left out.
The Island Village Unit LPG Construction Project involves building LPG storage facilities such as LPG storage tanks, piping networks, gas boilers, and safety devices, supplying LPG gas to each household through underground piping networks.
Compared to using existing LPG cylinders, it reduces fuel costs by more than 30%, and provides city gas-level safety and convenience, allowing the use of modernized gas facilities such as gas boilers, metal pipe replacements, and alarm installations.
In particular, it is expected to resolve difficulties such as irregular gas supply and fuel cost burdens caused by frequent cancellations of gas transport ships during winter.
