On the 6th, A, the husband of the victim, appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and expressed his pain, saying that his wife suffered severe brain damage and aphasia, and that their daughter had very deep facial wounds.
A said, "According to the professor who performed my wife's surgery at that time, he said that my wife's brain is like that of a one- or two-year-old child," adding, "You could just say she is barely surviving."
Regarding their daughter's condition, he said, "The wounds on her face are so deep that they are not the kind of wounds you can go outside with, and she needs about 15 plastic surgeries," adding, "But even if she undergoes plastic surgery, the scars might not be visible, but if she doesn't, the scars will remain forever."
He continued, "Not only my wife but also as a father, I think my daughter is beautiful. You can say that I spend every day in tears because my heart is broken."
A explained that a male police officer who arrived at the scene took him outside, fearing that he and the perpetrator might fight, and while asking what had happened, they heard their daughter's screams. Startled by the screams, A ran upstairs, and at that moment, a female police officer came down saying "Knife, knife, knife," mimicking stabbing at her neck.
When he arrived at the scene, A said, "I witnessed my wife bleeding, and my 20-year-old daughter was holding the perpetrator's hand," adding, "When my daughter called out 'Dad,' I realized something was wrong, and although I felt sorry for my wife, I thought I had to save my daughter first."
A charged at the perpetrator, knocked him down, and took the knife away. He added, "While struggling with the perpetrator and dodging the knife, I also got several wounds on my face."

A bodycam is a recording device worn by police officers that functions like a black box, recording the situation at the incident scene.
In response, the Incheon Police Agency secured the bodycam device and conducted digital forensics but confirmed that the incident was not recorded. They explained, "The recording was not made because the storage was already full from around November 3, last year, the day before the incident."
Meanwhile, in the incident that occurred on November 15 last year at a villa in Incheon, two police officers from a certain police substation of the Nonhyeon Police Station in Incheon did not respond immediately despite knowing that the suspect was wielding a weapon.

The two officers who responded to the scene were dismissed in December last year, and although they filed an appeal against the disciplinary action, it was dismissed last month. The Incheon Police Agency is investigating not only the two officers but also the then chief of the Incheon Nonhyeon Police Station and the head of the substation on charges of dereliction of duty.
