Private Investigators Revealing Victim Information by Lee Seok-jun Say "I Didn't Lead It"
Private Investigators "We Are Accomplices but Did Not Lead"
Charged with Violations of Personal Information Protection Act and Others
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Private investigators who sold the residential information of a victim to Lee Seokjun, who murdered the family of a woman under protection, claimed that none of them took the lead.
On the 6th, the 11th Criminal Division of the Seoul Eastern District Court (Judge Kim Byungchul) held a trial in the morning for private investigators Min (41) and Kim (38), who were indicted on charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (bribery) and the Personal Information Protection Act.
The court asked the defense, "Min testified that he continued to operate the private investigation agency even after Kim left. Considering Kim's age and other factors, isn't Min the one who took the lead?" In response, Kim's legal representative stated, "We admit to being accomplices, but Kim did not take the lead." They had previously admitted to the charges in an earlier trial.
Previously, Park, a former public official of Gwonseon District Office, is accused of illegally accessing 1,101 personal information records from January 2020 for about two years and receiving bribes totaling 39.54 million won in exchange for providing the information. Private investigators Min and Kim are charged with violating the Personal Information Protection Act and other offenses.
