Amazing Taste and Calories... Samjin Fish Cake Launches 'Awesome Bar' Seafood Protein Bar for Diet Season

‘Healthy Pleasure’ has emerged as a new health management trend, especially among the MZ generation.
Healthy Pleasure literally means managing health joyfully by combining ‘Healthy’ and ‘Pleasure.’ It refers to a lifestyle of sustainable health management through enjoyment and convenience rather than enduring pain for dieting.
According to data from the Food Industry Statistical Information System (aTFIS), the market size of protein foods closely related to diet management rapidly grew from 81.3 billion KRW in 2018 to 336.4 billion KRW in 2021.
Reflecting this trend, Samjin Fish Cake developed ‘a.ssumbar,’ a protein bar with convenience that lowers trans fats through a baking manufacturing process and increases seafood protein content.
Unlike existing protein bars and chicken breast products that require refrigeration, ‘a.ssumbar’ was developed to be stored and distributed at room temperature, enhancing convenience.
Using high-temperature, high-pressure retort technology to sterilize bacteria, it slows down spoilage and can be stored at room temperature for up to one year.
The seafood protein bar ‘a.ssumbar’ comes in three flavors: chicken breast, quattro cheese, and spicy pepper cheese.
The chicken breast flavor contains 13g of protein per 80g serving. This meets about 22% of the recommended daily protein intake for adults and is similar to the protein level obtained from consuming two eggs, a representative protein food.
The calories of ‘a.ssumbar’ are low, with chicken breast, quattro cheese, and spicy pepper cheese flavors containing 90 kcal, 110 kcal, and 75 kcal respectively, allowing for protein intake without burden by reducing carbohydrates.
The three types of Samjin Fish Cake’s ‘a.ssumbar’ are available for purchase on the Samjin Fish Cake online shopping mall. It was initially launched mainly through online channels, with plans to expand distribution networks.
Park Yong-jun, CEO of Samjin Fish Cake, said, “Seafood processed foods like ‘a.ssumbar’ are emerging alternative proteins and sustainable protein sources that can replace meat,” adding, “We will continue to expand the seafood protein food group that can help not only health but also the environment, strengthening ESG management.”
To commemorate the launch of the three types of ‘a.ssumbar,’ Samjin Fish Cake’s official online mall will hold a discount promotion for about four weeks starting from the 1st.
