BGF Retail Signs Business Agreement with MFDS... "Introduction of Sealed Refrigerators"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] BGF Retail announced on the 31st that it has signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) and will participate in the pilot project of ‘Attaching Refrigerator Doors’ to strengthen the refrigerated distribution system.
This project was planned to measure the food safety maintenance effect and energy efficiency of sealed refrigerators in convenience stores and large supermarkets, following the MFDS’s announcement to strengthen the upper limit of preservation and distribution temperature standards for refrigerated foods such as milk and tofu from the current 10 degrees to 5 degrees Celsius.
Through this business agreement, BGF Retail will ▲install sealed refrigerators in stores ▲provide technical support and share information related to installation and operation ▲collaborate to improve consumer awareness. To this end, BGF Retail has been developing sealed refrigerators with openable doors in collaboration with a specialized refrigerated fixture manufacturer over the past several months. These fixtures can maintain cold air for a long time, resulting in higher power efficiency than existing open-type refrigerators.
BGF Retail expects this project to help establish a more hygienic convenience store distribution environment, enhance food safety, and have a positive effect of practicing carbon neutrality by reducing energy consumption.
