[Public Officials' Asset Disclosure] Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon Ranks First in Metropolitan Local Government Heads' Assets
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Among metropolitan and provincial governors, the one with the greatest wealth was found to be Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon.
According to the 2022 public official asset disclosure report released on the 31st by the Government Public Officials Ethics Committee, Mayor Oh's total assets amounted to 5.90226 billion KRW, an increase of 1.02238 billion KRW compared to the previous year.
Due to election reimbursement costs and the settlement of leasehold rights, the deposit amount increased from 1.98658 billion KRW to 2.18678 billion KRW, while personal debts between himself and his spouse decreased by 880 million KRW, and his spouse's financial debts decreased by 200 million KRW.
The next wealthiest metropolitan and provincial governor was Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon, whose total assets increased by 392.78 million KRW from the previous year to 4.68457 billion KRW. Sejong Special Self-Governing City Mayor Lee Chun-hee (3.28744 billion KRW) followed.
Among city and provincial superintendents of education, Daegu Superintendent of Education Kang Eun-hee had the highest assets at 8.61906 billion KRW. Superintendent Kang's assets increased by 4.19024 billion KRW over the past year. Daejeon Superintendent of Education Seol Dong-ho had 1.64319 billion KRW, and Chungbuk Superintendent of Education Kim Byung-woo had 1.61476 billion KRW, following behind.
