The Wives of Ambassadors in Korea, Immersed in the Spring Atmosphere of Gyeongbuk
Visit to Nationally Designated Cultural Property Suun Japbang and Traditional Culture Experience
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 30th that the Ambassadors Spouses Association in Seoul visited the region's major traditional, cultural, and tourist sites as well as the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office.
On this day, Gyeongbuk Province held a meeting to diversify cooperation with the Ambassadors Spouses Association in Seoul and establish new exchanges.
Through the meeting, discussions were held on cultural and tourism exchanges promoted by the province, the activation of overseas exchanges for local women, and women's policies.
Following this, the association visited Suun Japbang, designated as a national treasure, where they experienced cooking and took a walk on Andong Wolryeonggyo Bridge.
On the following day, the 31st, they visited Mungyeong to directly experience the region's traditional culture through pottery and traditional dyeing activities.
Ha Daesung, Deputy Governor for Economy of Gyeongbuk Province, said, “Gyeongbuk is home to many female leaders who changed the history of the Republic of Korea. As the center of history and culture holding about 40% of important cultural heritage sites and the driving force of industrialization, here in Gyeongbuk, you can feel the long history and development of Korea together.”
Konul Tayimurova (Interim President of the Ambassadors Spouses Association in Seoul / spouse of the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Korea) responded, “We sincerely thank you for inviting the Ambassadors Spouses Association in Seoul, and through this visit, I have developed more interest in Gyeongbuk. If there are opportunities for exchange with Gyeongbuk Province in the future, we will actively support them. We also hope to continue exchanges with women of Gyeongbuk.”
The Ambassadors Spouses Association in Seoul is a non-profit organization composed of spouses of heads of missions and key diplomatic envoys from about 140 embassies, international organizations, and foreign groups in Korea.
