Suncheon City to Implement Rapid Processing Period for Daily Life Complaints Starting Next Month on the 1st
Strengthening On-Site Administrative Activities in Townships for Roads, Traffic, and Environment, Operating Citizen-Centered City Administration
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 29th that it will operate a rapid response period for daily inconvenience complaints and strengthen on-site administrative activities from May 1 to June 30, a three-month period.
The city plans to focus public officials on their core duties before and after the 8th nationwide local elections on June 1 to prevent any work gaps or leaks. It will promptly handle complaints related to roads, traffic, environment, and cleaning reported by citizens, operating a field- and citizen-centered administration.
The main complaints to be addressed include safety issues of public facilities such as various construction sites, retaining walls, roads, sidewalks, hiking trails, traffic facilities, manholes, and drainage, as well as complaints related to living environment issues like illegal waste dumping.
Complaints received during the rapid response period for daily inconvenience will be assigned to the responsible department on the same day. The department in charge will inform the complainant of the processing details or results within 2 to 3 days. For complaints involving budget, long-term requirements, or multiple departments, a head of the relevant bureau will be designated for focused handling.
Additionally, the 24 Eup, Myeon, and Dong Administrative Welfare Centers will form and operate a complaint response task force to patrol and strengthen on-site administrative activities to resolve and prevent resident inconveniences in the area. They will identify potential risk factors in advance and respond proactively through collaboration with related departments.
Meanwhile, the city will reward citizens who contribute to preventing safety accidents by reporting public facilities or various daily inconvenience complaints that may pose safety risks. It will also strictly punish public officials who neglect complaints or engage in passive administration, promoting the establishment of public service discipline.
