SKIET "Advancing Separator Business... Becoming a Global Materials Company"
No Jaeseok, CEO of SK IE Technology, declared the opening of the 3rd regular general meeting of shareholders in the capacity of chairman on the morning of the 28th at the SK Seorin Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] SK Innovation's materials business subsidiary, SK IE Technology (SKIET), announced its plan to leap forward as a global top-tier materials company through the advancement of its separator business and expansion into new businesses.
On the 28th, at the 3rd regular shareholders' meeting held at the SK Seorin Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, SKIET CEO Noh Jae-seok stated, "We aim to further advance our world-class separator business and create tangible results in new businesses such as Flexible Cover Window (FCW), thereby establishing a solid growth portfolio as a ‘global top-tier materials company.’"
CEO Noh said, "The lithium-ion battery separator business has secured production sites in three locations: Chungbuk Jeungpyeong, Changzhou in China, and Silesia in Poland. In particular, through the Poland plant, we have laid the foundation to proactively respond to the rapidly growing European electric vehicle market. Based on the expanded production capacity, we will strengthen our position in the global market."
He continued, "The FCW business has secured a growth foundation in preparation for the opening of the FCW market by collaborating with various customers to acquire differentiated foldable new materials. We are continuously reviewing and promoting expansion into new business areas that consider the competitiveness and technological relevance of the separator business to diversify our business portfolio."
At the SKIET shareholders' meeting held that day, the proposals to appoint Kim Jun as Other Non-Executive Director, Noh Jae-seok as Inside Director, and Ahn Jin-ho as Outside Director were all approved.

Kim Jun, Vice Chairman of SK Innovation, was highly evaluated for his expertise and capabilities in leading innovative achievements under the 'Carbon to Green' strategy being promoted across all SK Innovation affiliates. Outside Director Ahn Jin-ho, a professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Hanyang University, is expected to faithfully perform an advisory role to SKIET's management based on his expertise in the materials field and contribute to board-centered management.
