Financial Supervisory Service Produces 'Financial Life Guidebook by Life Cycle' as Braille Book
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] The Financial Supervisory Service announced on the 27th that it has produced the financial education textbook "Life Cycle Financial Life Guidebook (Revised Edition)" in Braille and audiobook formats.
The Braille book and audiobook were created to enhance accessibility to financial information for visually impaired individuals, reduce the gap in financial education compared to the general public, and help resolve financial difficulties.
The Financial Supervisory Service explained that while faithfully containing the basic content of the booklet, it focused on increasing practicality and ease of use so that visually impaired people can use it easily and conveniently.
Existing visual materials such as tables, graphs, and illustrations were converted into descriptive text as much as possible, and customized information for the visually impaired was included, such as the introduction of financial products exclusively for people with disabilities and guidance on using digital OTPs for the visually impaired.
The audiobook was recorded alternately by five voice actors to prevent a decrease in concentration during long listening sessions, and comics were performed with divided roles to add enjoyment.
It is also notable that QR codes for the audiobook Braille were inserted for each chapter of the Braille book, allowing parallel learning with Braille and audiobook when needed.
Electronic Braille book files (BRF, DAISY files) were also produced so that they can be used at home with Braille information terminals without visiting a library.
