LG Electronics Holds ESG University Student Academy Launch Ceremony
ESG Education and Mentoring Support for About 30 University Students Over Approximately 5 Months

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] LG Electronics announced on the 27th that it will conduct an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Academy for university students to strengthen the ESG capabilities of future generations.
On the 25th, LG Electronics held the launch ceremony of the ‘8th ESG University Student Academy’ via video conference at the LG Social Campus located in the Industry-Academia Building at Korea University in Anam-dong, Seoul. The ESG University Student Academy is a program that LG Electronics has been operating since 2014 to instill awareness of ESG in university students and to nurture talent in this field. To date, over 230 students have completed the academy.
About 30 university students participating in this academy will receive systematic education and mentoring on ESG for approximately five months from March to July. In addition to independently reflecting on each area of environment, society, and governance, they will carry out ESG activities they have planned themselves. University students who complete the academy with excellent grades will be given additional points in the document screening process when applying for new employee recruitment at LG Electronics.
Earlier, LG Electronics, along with LG Chem and the nonprofit organization PPL, held the launch ceremony of ‘LG Social Fellow’ and also began supporting social economy enterprises that strive to solve social and environmental issues.
