Ukraine: "US Does Not Oppose Providing Fighter Jets to Poland"
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The Ukrainian government announced on the 26th (local time) that the United States does not oppose Poland's transfer of fighter jets to Ukraine.
Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine's Foreign Minister, issued a statement saying, "The United States does not oppose the transfer of fighter jets. The ball is now in Poland's court," adding, "We will look into this issue more deeply through talks with the Polish side."
Minister Kuleba emphasized, "Ukraine urgently needs more fighter jets to maintain balance in the air and prevent further civilian casualties by Russia."
Earlier, Poland had requested the United States to provide American-made fighter jets such as the F-16 in exchange for transferring Soviet-era MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine.
