The Seoul Western Police Station announced on the 25th that they arrested an 80-year-old man, Mr. A, on the 24th on suspicion of attempted murder.
Mr. A is accused of repeatedly hitting the head of his sleeping spouse, Mr. B, with a blunt weapon at a house in Eunpyeong-gu around 3:50 PM on the 24th.
The police responded to a report from Mr. B and arrived at the scene, where Mr. A was found to have overdosed on sleeping pills.
Fortunately, Mr. B's life was not in danger, and he underwent suturing surgery on his head. Mr. A is currently receiving treatment at the hospital as well.
