EWK Changes Company Name to 'Kaelum'... "Full-Scale Launch of New Aviation Business"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] EWK has changed its company name to CAELUM and is officially launching its new aviation business.
EWK announced on the 24th that all agenda items, including the name change and the appointment of new directors, were approved at the regular shareholders' meeting held at its Busan headquarters. The company changed its name to CAELUM and added new business objectives related to the aviation industry.
EWK newly added the following business purposes: ▲repair, remodeling, and refurbishment of aircraft and equipment ▲aircraft trading ▲aircraft leasing ▲aircraft rental, among others.
EWK, which has been operating in information and communication technology (ICT) and plant businesses, is now pursuing the aviation business as a new venture. At the corporate briefing held on the 16th, the company explained its vision and detailed business plans for the overall aviation sector, including cargo aircraft conversion (P2F), aviation finance, and aircraft parts manufacturing.
Starting with the business of converting passenger aircraft such as the ATR72 into cargo planes for sale and lease, EWK plans to achieve sales of 600 billion KRW by 2025 through additional acquisitions of aircraft parts companies.

A company official stated, “Since last year, we have launched the CAELUM division responsible for the aviation business and are proceeding with acquisitions such as that of the aircraft engine parts company Hana ITM. We plan to fully activate the aviation business in line with the next government’s commitment to fostering the space and aviation industries.”
