Jeonju City to Operate Mind Comfort Bus Visiting Citizens Exhausted by COVID-19 from April to Year-End
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 24th that, together with the Jeonju City Mental Health Welfare Center, it will operate the ‘Mind Relief Bus’ from next month, providing customized mental health services by visiting vulnerable groups at least twice a week.
The Mind Relief Bus is a bus designed to serve as a counseling room, selected by Jeonju City in the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s ‘Mind Relief Bus Operation’ public contest project.
This bus plays a role in supporting on-site psychological crisis response through in-depth counseling during disasters such as infectious disease outbreaks, and during normal times, it directly visits areas in need of mental health services to provide various psychological support services.
To this end, the interior of the Mind Relief Bus is equipped with △waiting area △stress measurement area △program and counseling space, and safety equipment to respond to infectious diseases is also fully installed.
Residents using the Mind Relief Bus will receive integrated services inside the bus, including △mental health evaluation △stress measurement △mental health counseling and case management services.
The Jeonju City Public Health Center also plans to help restore mental health by registering and linking citizens judged to be in the high-risk group for mental health through the Mental Health Welfare Center via the Mind Relief Bus service.
The Mind Relief Bus is scheduled to operate on a rotating basis this year, focusing on 35 neighborhoods in Jeonju City, rental apartments, disaster sites, and pre-registered institutions. Residents or institutions wishing to use the Mind Relief Bus service can apply to the Jeonju City Mental Health Welfare Center.
