It has been about four months (123 days) since her hospitalization on November 22 of last year.
On the morning of the same day, around 8:30 a.m., former President Park appeared in front of the main building of Samsung Seoul Hospital in Irwon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Wearing a navy coat and a beige mask, she walked out herself and met with reporters, saying, "I am greeting the people after five years," and added, "Thanks to your great concern, my health has greatly improved. I would like to express my gratitude to the medical staff and all those involved at Samsung Hospital who devoted themselves to my treatment over the past four months."
She did not respond to questions about her future plans or messages to the public and got into a black Genesis vehicle waiting nearby.
News of former President Park’s discharge attracted supporters and YouTubers in front of the main building of Samsung Seoul Hospital. Some supporters held Taegeukgi flags and bouquets. The supporters, who were waiting calmly for her to come out, shouted "President Park Geun-hye" and "Madam President" when she appeared. When some supporters tried to approach her, police intervened. A banner reading "Wishing President Park a speedy recovery" was hung at the hospital entrance, and dozens applauded as they saw her off.
