KAIST Recruiting Pre-Startup Teams for Open Venture Lab Participation
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) is recruiting prospective startup teams to participate in the '2022 KAIST Open Venture Lab' starting from the 23rd. Anyone interested in technology startups who has not yet registered a business or established a corporation can apply. Multiple applications are also allowed.
About 12 teams will be selected in this recruitment, and the chosen prospective startup teams will receive various startup-related infrastructure KAIST possesses, including startup education, in-house technology matching and mentoring, and commercialization verification.
Open Venture Lab, which started three years ago, has been significantly revamped this year into a problem-solving customized nurturing program. A dedicated mentor with excellent commercialization capabilities monitors the entire business progress, which is a key feature. Especially from this year, Daejeon region will be additionally operated to support the growth of startups with high potential in the area.
An Open Venture Lab official said, “KAIST has been striving to activate technology startups based on excellent research achievements,” adding, “Since we have prepared an open startup support program to create jobs and a sustainable startup ecosystem, we look forward to the challenges of prospective entrepreneurs dreaming of becoming unicorns.”

Applications can be submitted through the KAIST Startup Incubation Center website from today until the 22nd of next month. The announcement of selected teams will be on May 6.
