Yanolja Invests in Car Rental Platform 'Kaeplicks'... Becomes Second Largest Shareholder
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Leisure platform company Yanolja announced on the 22nd that it has invested in the rental car platform 'Caplix'.
Caplix operates the rental car sharing economy service 'Jeju Pass' and the subscription service for rental cars based on a dedicated algorithm called 'Mozaika' since 2016. It has the largest domestic small and medium-sized rental car network with over 450 affiliated companies and about 42,000 vehicles. It provides real-time rental car reservation services using a cloud integrated information system (ERP) solution.
Yanolja made this investment believing that Caplix's region-based network and cloud-based solution will create synergy with its own leisure inventory. Although Yanolja did not disclose the investment amount, it quickly became the second largest shareholder of Caplix. Based on this investment, the two companies plan to strengthen mobility services within the Yanolja platform and introduce rental car services using data-driven algorithms in the global market.
First, using AI-based cloud solutions, they will predict rental car demand in advance, from pricing to vehicle type analysis. Through this, it is expected to provide stable services at reasonable prices even during peak seasons. Also, leveraging the high cross-selling characteristics of rental cars, Yanolja services such as accommodation, leisure, aviation, and restaurants will be introduced through various channels, and a service platform specialized for Jeju Island will be established within Yanolja's leisure super app. In the future, they plan to expand the global business of contactless rental car solutions focusing on famous overseas island tourist destinations.
