Yuseonghun Geumcheon District Mayor Holds 'Spring Cleaning' with Residents on 21st
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the afternoon of the 21st, Chaehyunil, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, gave a presentation on the theme of "Fair Tourism in the City Center as a Cultural City" at the inaugural general meeting and international forum of the Fair Tourism Local Government Council held at the National Assembly Members' Office Building in Yeouido.
The Fair Tourism Local Government Council was formed by 34 local governments nationwide, including Yeongdeungpo District, united in their goal to realize sustainable fair tourism values involving local communities, residents, and the tourism industry.
On this day, Mayor Cha was elected as co-chairman of the council along with Lee Seon-ho, Mayor of Ulju County, and participated as a panelist in the international forum following the inaugural general meeting, where he spoke about the importance of cultural civic power as the driving force of fair tourism and the role of local governments.
Mayor Cha expressed his ambition, saying, "Together with the council, we will strive for sustainable tourism development and illuminate the future of fair tourism where local residents, tourists, and the tourism industry all find happiness."

View original imageGangnam District (Mayor Jung Soon-gyun) on the 21st donated 30 million KRW in relief funds to Donghae City, Gangwon Province, a sister city of Gangnam District, to support victims of the forest fire.
The funds were raised through voluntary contributions from all Gangnam District employees and sponsorship from the Gangnam Welfare Foundation, a foundation established by Gangnam District. The funds will be used to support recovery efforts for victims of the forest fire through the Gangwon Province Community Chest of Korea.
Mayor Jung Soon-gyun of Gangnam District said, "All employees raised funds with the hope of providing some help to the victims who suffered great damage from the forest fire," adding, "I hope that the damage recovery will be completed quickly so that citizens can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
Kim Sooyoung, Mayor of Yangcheon District, attended the '2022 Yangcheon Innovative Education District Village Instructor Workshop' held at the Yangcheon Digital Media Center at 10 a.m. on the 21st.
At the workshop held for village instructors by subcommittee of the Innovative Education District, Mayor Kim said, "Today’s workshop will be an opportunity to deeply consider the direction of the village education community and governance amid the prolonged COVID-19 situation, and the role of village instructors within it," adding, "I hope it will be a good opportunity to strengthen leadership capabilities suitable for the rapidly changing educational environment."
Geumcheon District (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) designated the period until March 31 as the special spring cleaning period and held a 'Spring Cleaning' event on the morning of the 21st with 100 members of the Geumcheon Saemaul Movement Association.
During the cleaning period, the district will simultaneously clean ▲public offices and major facilities ▲Anyangcheon Stream ▲bus stop facilities, operating road dust vacuum cleaners, street sweepers, and water cleaning vehicles to thoroughly remove fine dust and calcium chloride accumulated on the roads.
