The Korean Land and Urban Planning Society Hosts the '2022 Inter-Korean Exchange and Future National Land Vision Contest'

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] The Korean Society of Land and Urban Planning (President Professor Kim Chan-ho of Chung-Ang University) is jointly hosting the '2022 Inter-Korean Exchange and Future National Land Vision Contest' with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (President Kim Hyun-joon). This contest is sponsored by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Unification, and anyone aged 20 or older who is a Korean citizen can apply.
The contest is divided into student and general categories, and applicants can choose to submit either a thesis (essay) or an infographic (panel). The themes can be selected from six areas: planning and development of land and cities, housing, economic and tourism special zones, infrastructure construction, the DMZ, and cooperation between inter-Korean cities, all based on the premise of possible inter-Korean exchange and cooperation. The judging of this contest will be conducted by a panel of 10 experts in urban planning and inter-Korean issues. After the evaluation, outstanding works will be selected for each category and awarded the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award / Minister of Unification Award (prize money of 4 million KRW), and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation President Award / Korean Society of Land and Urban Planning President Award (prize money of 2.5 million KRW).

Regarding this, President Kim Chan-ho stated, "To raise public interest in the land and cities of a unified Korea, it is necessary to expand the need and base for inter-Korean exchange and cooperation," adding, "Through this contest, we expect to encourage diverse public participation and discover creative ideas related to national land and urban development through inter-Korean exchange and cooperation."
