Gyeongnam Sancheong-gun Holds Regulatory Reform Proposal Contest for Public Officials
Promotion in Four Areas Until October 31 This Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is launching an initiative to discover regulatory reform tasks to improve various administrative regulations.
The county announced on the 18th that it will hold the 'Regulatory Reform Proposal Contest of the Year' to revitalize the local economy and enhance the convenience of residents' daily lives.
This contest will be held until October 31st and is open to affiliated public officials.
It is divided into four categories: ▲Revitalization of the local economy ▲Improvement of residents' daily life convenience ▲Innovation in regulations related to people's livelihood ▲Cases related to proactive administration concerning COVID-19.
Participants can submit improvement proposals on regulations they have been interested in or those they found unreasonable while handling their duties.
The proposals will undergo a first preliminary review, followed by a second final evaluation by the Sancheong-gun Regulatory Reform Committee based on criteria such as completeness, feasibility, effectiveness, and appropriateness.
The results are expected to be announced in November, with awards including certificates and prize money of 500,000 KRW for the grand prize, 300,000 KRW for excellence, and 200,000 KRW for encouragement prizes.
Additionally, among the excellent proposals, autonomous regulations that can be directly improved will be promptly revised by the responsible departments. Tasks related to laws or system improvements will be recommended for improvement to the relevant central government ministries.

Last year, Sancheong-gun discovered and submitted 56 regulatory reform tasks to the 'People's Livelihood Regulatory Innovation Task Contest' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Gyeongnam Province. Among them, the proposal titled 'The Wind of the Sharing Economy Blows in Rural Areas' was selected as the grand prize winner and received the Governor's Award.
