On the 18th, Vice Chairman Kwon said in his opening remarks at the first transition committee meeting held at the committee office in Tongui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, "We will serve the chairman and transition committee members well, and ultimately serve the president-elect and the people well so that the transition committee can firmly lay the foundation for the new government."
Following this, Planning Chairman Won Hee-ryong said, "Together with the transition committee members, we will strive to present a well-coordinated appearance to approach the people," adding, "In the past, the transition committee showed a lack of humility by acting ahead of the president’s official cabinet formation. Taking this as a lesson, we will approach the people with sincerity and humility."
On the same day in the morning, the transition committee held a plaque unveiling ceremony at the entrance of the transition committee building in Tongui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Present at the site were President-elect Yoon, Transition Committee Chairman Ahn Cheol-soo, Vice Chairman Kwon Young-se, Chairman of the National Integration Committee Kim Han-gil, Chairman of the Special Committee on Regional Balanced Development Kim Byung-joon, People Power Party Representative Lee Jun-seok, Floor Leader Kim Ki-hyun, and other transition committee officials and party leadership.
