Samsung Securities Wins 2021 Compliance Award from Korea Exchange

The ceremony, held at the Korea Exchange headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, was conducted in a simplified manner considering social distancing measures. Three corporations and eight individuals who contributed to the establishment of excellent internal control systems and the spread of compliance culture were awarded.
Samsung Securities, which received the grand prize (Financial Services Commission Chairman's Award), was highly evaluated for operating a comprehensive monitoring system by linking an unfair trading monitoring system with an anti-money laundering system, and for strengthening differentiated internal control activities such as the 'Erroneous Trading Incident Alert Chatroom' and the 'External Document Management Ledger System.'
SK Securities, awarded the excellence prize (Korea Exchange Chairman's Award), received high praise for developing systems to detect unfair trading, including the establishment of monitoring standards for fictitious trading in commodity futures and the construction of a monitoring system for concentrated trading of specific stocks from similar IPs.
Hyundai Motor Securities, which won the best practice award (Korea Exchange Chairman's Award), was well regarded for introducing a 'Work-from-Home Employee Recording System' to comply with the obligation to keep order records during telecommuting.
In the individual category, eight people, including the compliance officer of Cape Investment & Securities, were awarded.

Son Byung-doo, Chairman of the Korea Exchange, who attended the event, emphasized, "As expectations for fairness and reliability in the capital market increase and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management culture spreads, the role of compliance, including consumer protection and internal control, is important. Active cooperation from member companies and compliance officers is necessary for the desirable spread and establishment of a compliance culture."
