Gyeonggi Northern Fire Department, Focused Crackdown on 'Hazardous Materials Handling and Fire-Vulnerable Industries'
220 Small Factories with a Total Floor Area of 1500㎡ or Less
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] The Northern Gyeonggi Province Fire and Disaster Headquarters will conduct an emergency fire safety patrol crackdown until the 30th to eliminate blind spots in fire safety management.
The crackdown targets 220 small factories with a total floor area of 1,500㎡ or less located in the northern Gyeonggi area. In particular, it plans to focus on industries vulnerable to fire, such as printing and chemical industries where hazardous materials are expected to be used, as well as textile, metal machinery, woodworking, and paper manufacturing industries.
The main inspection items include ▲whether unauthorized hazardous materials such as paint and thinner vulnerable to fire are handled ▲whether fire-fighting facilities are powered off or left malfunctioning ▲whether evacuation and fire prevention facilities are closed or blocked ▲whether obstacles causing evacuation hindrance, such as piled-up objects, are present.
If illegal activities are detected, a zero-tolerance policy will be applied, and strict punishment will be enforced according to relevant laws. Additionally, after analyzing the results of this crackdown, inspections will be expanded or surprise crackdowns will be continuously strengthened.
The emergency crackdown will deploy a total of 38 personnel in 13 inspection teams composed of the Northern Fire and Disaster Headquarters and patrol teams from fire stations in northern Gyeonggi.
