AIA Life "Complete Automation of Insurance Payouts, Delivered Within 20 Minutes"
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] AIA Life announced on the 17th that it will significantly simplify the insurance claim process.
AIA Life explained that it recently completed a system advancement project applying cutting-edge technologies such as Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning to its mobile and PC-based customer self-service portal, 'MY AIA.'
With the introduction of AI-based OCR technology, AIA Life customers only need to take a simple photo of the required documents for insurance claims using their smartphones.
In the past, when submitting insurance claim documents, customers had to manually enter details such as diagnosis, hospital, and treatment information necessary for review. However, now the information required for review can be automatically extracted and processed through OCR technology.
Thanks to this, customers can easily claim insurance by photographing documents with their smartphones at home without mailing or visiting a branch.
The insurance claim submission, which previously took considerable time due to various document preparations and complicated procedures, now takes 1 minute, and insurance payment, which usually took 2 to 3 days, can be completed in as fast as 20 minutes.
