Silla University Holds the 17th Best Teacher Award Ceremony

On the 16th at 11 a.m., Silla University held the Best Teacher Awards ceremony in the President’s Reception Room of the 60th Anniversary Memorial Hall, attended by President Kim Choong-seok, key officials, and awardees, where plaques and prize money were presented.
The Best Teacher Awards is a prestigious award given annually by the Center for Teaching and Learning Development, which comprehensively evaluates professors based on one year of lecture evaluations and participation in faculty competency programs to recognize exemplary faculty members.
This year, five professors were selected as main award recipients: Kim Yang-hyun (Department of Police Administration), Choi Hyung-sung (Department of Early Childhood Education), Kim Ju-sung (Department of Nursing), Jang Kyung-ae (Department of Dental Hygiene), and Yang Jung-ok (Department of Physical Education). Additionally, the e-Learning Award, given to a professor with significant contributions to education using information and communication technology, was awarded to Jang Hee-jung (Department of Tourism Management).
Lee Kyung-soon, Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning Development, said, “Despite many difficulties such as conducting classes online during the changing educational environment due to COVID-19, we once again thank the professors who continuously interacted with students and led student-participatory classes.”

Silla University plans to disseminate the teaching know-how and best practices of the awardees through faculty training to improve the quality of instruction and cultivate capable professors.
