Song Young-gil Assaulted with a Club, 70s YouTuber Arrested and Sent to Prosecution, Claims "Tragedy of Division"
[Asia Economy Reporters Oh Gyumin, Yoo Byeongdon] YouTuber Pyo (70), who struck former Democratic Party leader Song Young-gil with a blunt weapon at a campaign site, has been handed over to the prosecution.
On the 16th, the Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul applied charges of special injury and violation of the Public Official Election Act against Pyo and sent him to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office under detention.
At around 7:45 a.m. that day, after leaving the detention center, when asked if he had anything to say to former leader Song, Pyo replied, "This is all the tragedy of division." Regarding whether it was a planned crime, he denied, saying "No," then boarded the escort vehicle and was transported to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office.
Pyo is accused of repeatedly striking former leader Song's head with a blunt weapon at a campaign rally in front of Sinchon U-Plex Plaza in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, at around 12:05 p.m. on the 7th.
It has been confirmed that since last month, Pyo had been following former leader Song's campaign sites and uploading videos to his own YouTube channel.

On the 9th, Shin Cheolmin, the duty judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Western District Court, issued a detention warrant for Pyo during the pre-arrest detention hearing, citing concerns about flight risk.
