Jeonnam Fire Department Notifies Fire Facility Self-Inspection Precautions via 'Text Message'
Application by Mail, Fax, or Visit to Nearby Fire Station
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters will provide a text notification service to those subject to self-inspection of fire facilities starting in April.
The text notification service allows users to download forms from the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters and each fire station's website, then apply by mail or fax, or visit a nearby fire station to apply in person.
According to the Fire Facilities Act, persons responsible for specific fire safety objects must regularly inspect fire facilities and submit a self-inspection result report to the fire headquarters chief or fire station chief within 7 days.
If the self-inspection is not conducted, the person may face imprisonment of up to one year or a fine of up to 10 million won, and a fine of up to 2 million won will be imposed for delayed submission of inspection results.
Jeonnam Fire Headquarters planned the notification text service containing important notes to reduce inconveniences for civil petitioners, such as penalties and fines imposed for failure to conduct self-inspections or delayed submissions.
The text messages will be sent more than twice in the month before the self-inspection to persons responsible for specific fire safety objects.
