View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters held an entrance ceremony on the morning of the 14th at the welding school within the Shin-Kori Units 5 and 6 construction site for the 2022 construction site skilled workforce training program.
The skilled workforce training program for the Shin-Kori Units 5 and 6 construction site is a program aimed at nurturing site-tailored talents for local residents and linking them to quality jobs.
The 13 trainees who entered the program will receive specialized welding training for 12 weeks from the 14th until June 3.
After the training, trainees who obtain welder certification will be given priority for employment at the construction contractors of the Shin-Kori Units 5 and 6 construction site.
Since 2018 until last year, 143 trainees have completed the program, with 106 obtaining professional welder certification and achieving employment at the Shin-Kori Units 5 and 6 construction site and external companies.
In his encouragement speech at the entrance ceremony, Lee Sang-min, head of Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters, said, “Despite the difficult economic conditions caused by the spread and prolongation of COVID-19, I hope this training will be an opportunity for all trainees to grow into skilled technicians in their specialized fields and become excellent talents in future nuclear power plant construction and various industrial sites.”

The entrance ceremony was also attended by Kang Young-gu, director of Ulsan City, and Park Eun-kyung, director of Ulju County, along with officials from the job policy department, who delivered messages expressing expectations for successful training outcomes.
