Korean Air "Moscow and Vladivostok Routes Suspended Until End of April"
Impact of Prolonged Ukraine Crisis
Use of Detour Routes on Europe-Americas Flights
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Due to the prolonged Ukraine crisis, Korean Air will temporarily suspend passenger and cargo flights to Russia until the end of April.
According to Korean Air on the 15th, considering concerns about local airport operations and safety due to the Ukraine crisis, passenger flights on the Moscow and Vladivostok routes and cargo flights via Moscow on European routes will be temporarily suspended until the end of April.
Additionally, for routes departing from Europe and the eastern United States, detour routes will be used. The European routes include London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt, while the eastern U.S. routes include New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington, Boston, and Toronto. The European routes will detour through China, Kazakhstan, and Turkey, and the eastern U.S. routes will use detour routes passing through the Alaska Pacific.
Korean Air expects flight times to increase while using the detour routes, with European routes extending by 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours 45 minutes one-way, and eastern U.S. routes increasing by 1 hour to 1 hour 40 minutes.
