Naju City Hosts 'Tourism Souvenir Contest'
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City in Jeollanam-do announced on the 14th that it will hold the ‘2022 Naju City Tourism Souvenir Contest’ to discover unique and practical excellent tourism souvenirs that capture the charm of Naju.
The target items for the ‘2022 Naju City Tourism Souvenir Contest’ are food and beverages, manufactured goods, crafts, fashion and accessories, and other tourism products priced under 50,000 KRW, made using Naju’s history, tradition, culture, nature, etc. The product and packaging must be completed as a single item that can be sold independently.
Applicants are not restricted by region as long as they are businesses capable of producing tourism souvenirs.
Participating companies can submit their works by visiting the City Hall History and Tourism Division from August 29 to 31 with their entries and required documents.
The city plans to select a total of eight works through judging: one grand prize (3 million KRW), one gold prize (2 million KRW), one silver prize (1.5 million KRW), two bronze prizes (1 million KRW each), and three honorable mentions (500,000 KRW each).
The selected works will be used and promoted as representative tourism souvenirs of Naju, and some items will be purchased by the city to be provided as souvenirs for external visitors to Naju.
A city official said, “Through this contest, we plan to discover original tourism souvenirs that show the unique characteristics and charm of Naju. We will actively strive to discover and promote representative tourism souvenirs that tourists visiting Naju can commemorate their trip with, contributing to the development of the tourism souvenir industry and revitalization of the local economy.”
