Kim Eun-hye, spokesperson for the president-elect, held a briefing at the People Power Party central office in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 12th, stating, "The full-fledged Tongu-dong era will begin on Monday (the 14th)," and introduced, "The president-elect plans to commute to the office prepared in Tongu-dong."
Spokesperson Kim said, "After commuting to Tongu-dong, meetings related to the secretariat and national administration will take place," and added, "Since President-elect Yoon has expressed several times his desire to visit those who have been struggling with despair due to COVID-19, small business owners, self-employed people, and market merchants, I think his first public schedule will be a livelihood-focused visit."
He introduced, "I hope you see the president-elect as someone who promised communication by going to the people on-site."
Additionally, he said, "I have heard that the wildfire site has not yet been fully extinguished, and we are constantly monitoring the situation to avoid interfering with the firefighting efforts."
Spokesperson Kim stated, "President-elect Yoon decided to establish the TF after receiving suggestions during phone calls with metropolitan government heads from our party, emphasizing the need for a serious approach and solutions for national balanced development."
In response to reporters' questions about "what aspects the TF will discuss," Kim said, "It is a TF to discuss regional balanced development," and added, "Looking at the election process so far, issues like real estate, jobs, and education have been overly centralized, causing considerable inconvenience to people outside the metropolitan area."
He continued, "The country is not a specific region but will be developed and future-oriented under the principle of balanced development."
The day before, Jang Je-won, chief secretary to the president-elect, announced that the TF under the transition committee will include the president-elect’s direct organizations such as the ‘National Integration Special Committee,’ ‘COVID-19 Emergency Response TF,’ and ‘Blue House Reform TF.’
Spokesperson Kim explained regarding the residence where President-elect Yoon will stay after inauguration, "It is true that various locations are being considered."
At the briefing held at the People Power Party headquarters, when asked whether the residence would be at the Blue House or a separate space would be prepared, Kim said, "The president-elect strongly intends to reform the Blue House, meaning the Government Complex."
However, he explained that discussions about the residence are still secondary to the office. Spokesperson Kim said, "Since the Government Complex’s Blue House reform, that is, the office, needs to be prepared first, the residence discussions are not progressing very quickly," adding, "We will strive to finalize one location soon. It is a matter that should be completed within two months."
Spokesperson Kim introduced that verification work on transition committee members is underway and that the president-elect will proceed with ‘systematic’ appointments in the future.
He said, "Since the government has not yet launched, there are inevitably limitations to verification, but verification is essential from the presidential office to cabinet members and transition committee members," and explained, "We have set a principle for appointments. The appointments President-elect Yoon aims for are systematic."
Spokesperson Kim said, "We believe that the previous practice of favoring insiders or secret appointments unrelated to ability did not provide fair opportunities to the public," and introduced, "We will broadly and widely discover talents who combine ability and competence and who can improve the people's livelihood through their performance. This is the principle and standard for this appointment process."

Meanwhile, regarding North Korea’s development and launch movements of a new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), there was also a stance that measures against violations of UN Security Council resolutions are necessary. Spokesperson Kim said, "North Korea’s violation of Security Council resolutions requires corresponding measures from the international community," and added, "The president-elect has consistently stated that North Korea’s provocations violate Security Council resolutions, and I reaffirm that the international community must cooperate and condemn this with a unified voice."
