The Gyeongnam-specialized counseling education program, "Na Deohagi (Na+)," supports students who are having difficulties adapting to school life, daily life, or peer relationships as the third year of the COVID-19 outbreak approaches.
It focuses on identifying negative factors in daily life and helping students transform them into positive psychology, as well as on self-management, stress management, self-esteem improvement, and empathy enhancement.
The guidebook has been specified and subdivided to apply to all students experiencing psychological and emotional difficulties after COVID-19, and anyone can conduct the program.
The program can be adjusted according to student characteristics and consists of a total of 10 sessions structured as follows: "My Expansion," which fosters personal growth; "Connection Between Me and You," which expands the self; and "Our Growth," which promotes mutual growth through practice.
The Gyeongnam Office of Education announced that it is strengthening its cooperation system with the Counseling Center of the University Life Culture Center at Gyeongnam National University, which participated in the development, and is discussing specific operational plans to activate the program.
After training for Wee Center staff at 18 educational support offices, professional counseling teachers, and professional counselors, the counseling education program will be operated, and customized counseling content for different types of at-risk students will be added to the existing program.
