Pohang City Records Highest Ever Voter Turnout of 78.05% Since the 16th Presidential Election... Higher Than Gyeongbuk Average
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Dong-guk] Pohang City, Gyeongbuk announced that the voter turnout rate for the 20th presidential election in the Pohang area was finally tallied at 78.05%, marking the highest turnout rate since the 16th presidential election, and this rate is higher than the Gyeongbuk average (78.00%).
This is analyzed as the result of active promotional efforts in cooperation with the Pohang City Nam-gu and Buk-gu Election Commissions, utilizing proactive promotion of early voting along with the website and the electronic display boards at the city hall, city newsletters, subtitle broadcasts on cable TV, electronic display boards at the five-way intersection and communication boards, three environmental electronic display boards at Hyeongsan Rotary, two traffic electronic display boards, and village broadcasts in eup, myeon, and dong areas.
During early voting, issues such as increased waiting times for confirmed and quarantined individuals and direct voting problems were raised, so the city made every effort to prevent confusion during the main voting by sending route separation guidance messages to confirmed patients and supplementing these issues.
