Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction recently held a board meeting and resolved to change its name to Doosan Enerbility, the company announced on the 10th. The name change will be finalized at the regular shareholders' meeting on the 29th. This marks 21 years since the company changed its name from Korea Heavy Industries & Construction to Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction in 2001.
The new company name, Doosan Enerbility, is a compound word combining Energy and Sustainability. It also includes the meaning of 'Enable,' signifying the ability to combine the two. According to the company, the new name reflects the core values of its current businesses, such as gas turbines, and its commitment to securing sustainability going forward. It considered elements such as 'expandability,' 'global suitability,' and 'differentiation.'
