The National Election Commission announced that as of 4 PM on the 9th, the voter turnout for the presidential election was 71.1%. Out of the total 44,197,692 registered voters, 31,427,977 had cast their ballots. This is 4 percentage points higher compared to the 67.1% turnout in the previous presidential election.
Including early voting, the regions with the highest turnout rates were Jeollanam-do (77.3%), Gwangju Metropolitan City (76.4%), Jeollabuk-do (76.3%), Sejong Special Self-Governing City (74.9%), Gyeongsangbuk-do (73.6%), and Daegu Metropolitan City (72.4%). The areas with the lowest turnout were Jeju Special Self-Governing Province (66.9%), Incheon Metropolitan City (68.4%), and Chungcheongnam-do (68.5%).
Gyeonggi-do, which has the largest number of voters (7.5 million), recorded a turnout of 70.2%, while Seoul (5.15 million voters) recorded 71.4%.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission requested that general voters finish voting before 6 PM to reduce the risk of infection, as COVID-19 confirmed patients and those in quarantine will vote after 6 PM. The Commission designated the voting time for COVID-19 confirmed patients and quarantined individuals from 6 PM to 7:30 PM.
