Upbit Operator Dunamu Donates 3 Billion KRW to Wildfire-Affected Areas
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Dunamu, the operator of the cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, announced on the 9th that it has donated 3 billion KRW to disaster victims in the wildfire-affected areas of Uljin, Gyeongbuk, and Samcheok, Gangwon.
The donation will be used to support the livelihoods of disaster victims who suffered damage such as housing destruction and for regional recovery projects through the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association.
Kim Hyung-nyeon, Vice Chairman of Dunamu, said, "We hope to be of even a little help in the recovery and reconstruction of all those affected in the disaster areas."

Meanwhile, Dunamu has selected 'Namu' (Tree) as one of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) keywords and recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Forest Service to cooperate on forest restoration in disaster-affected areas. In addition, later this month, together with the Korea Forest Service, Dunamu will conduct the 'Own a Tree Campaign' on its metaverse platform 'SecondBlock' to sequentially restore and reforest the forests in the wildfire-affected regions.
