Russia "Opening humanitarian corridors in 5 cities including Kyiv"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-woo] The Russian government announced that, following talks with the Ukrainian delegation, it has opened humanitarian corridors allowing civilians to evacuate from five cities, including the capital Kyiv (Kiyev).
On the 8th (local time), according to Russian media such as Sputnik News, Igor Konashenkov, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Defense, stated that humanitarian corridors have been opened in five cities: Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv (Harikov), and Mariupol.
Spokesperson Konashenkov said, "To safely evacuate civilians from residential areas, a temporary ceasefire began today at 10 a.m. Moscow time (4 p.m. Korean time)," adding, "In Sumy, civilian evacuation vehicles will depart starting at 11 a.m."
