[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] POSCO International announced on the 8th that it has decided to donate $500,000 for humanitarian aid for Ukrainian refugees. The donation will be delivered to the Red Cross in Ukraine and neighboring countries to be used for local relief activities.
POSCO International operates a trading corporation in the capital Kyiv (Kiyev) and a grain terminal on the Black Sea coast. In particular, through the operation of a 2.5 million ton grain terminal at Mykolaiv Port on the Black Sea coast, it has been trading grains such as corn and wheat to the Middle East, North Africa (MENA), and Asia.
Since entering the local market in 2010, POSCO International has continuously engaged in community coexistence activities. Recently, in response to the spread of COVID-19, it donated medical equipment to Mykolaiv First Municipal Hospital and delivered medical supplies to a local children's hospital through the POSCO 1% Sharing Fund.
